About Sarah Dash

BA (hons) Dance with Related Arts, bbodance RTS

Sarah studied Dance with related arts for three years at University College Chichester, graduating in 2003.  Sarah then spent a year working in Chichester and assisted in creating dance and drama workshops at a centre for Adults with learning difficulties, including inclusive dance sessions for children with and without learning difficulties and physical disabilities.  In 2004 Sarah began her dance teacher training with The British Ballet Organization (now bbodance), graduating in 2006 with a Diploma in dance teaching, and becoming a registered dance teacher with bbodance.

Since moving back to her rural roots in the Cotswold’s Sarah has worked for Gloucestershire Dance leading after school dance clubs at both primary and secondary schools, in Bourton on the Water, Chipping Camden and Swell, as well as  being part of their Re-active age project, promoting dance for the active mature adult in Moreton in Marsh.

Later Sarah then led after school dance clubs as a freelance dance artist within West Oxfordshire through links with school sports coordinators in Kingham Primary, Holy Trinity, St Marys and Great Rollright Primary school. Alongside this Sarah returned to her childhood dance school in 2005 teaching Ballet,Tap, and Modern  classes for Chipping Norton School of Dance, gaining much experience of teaching and entering students for examination.

Sarah always dreamed of a school of her own and Dance with Dash was founded in January 2006 in Shipston on Stour, offering bbodance syllabus classes in Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz. Jill Brigder’s Melody Movement Pre School classes were added in 2009, and Contemporary in 2017.

Alongside her dance school Sarah has 3 young boys of her own, and this has further informed her leadership, organisational skills and offers a real insight into what a parent expects from class, along with working with males students.

Sarah is passionate about dance. Its not just good for keeping active, its good for the soul. “I believe dance should be accessible and enjoyed by all whatever an individuals capabilities or background may be, and I aim to promote this through my classes” Whether you are looking for a fun dance class, to learn sound technique or to meet new people, my aim is to creative a lifelong love of dance.
